Thetford Open Gardens, now thirteen years old, will have some surprising innovations this year.
There will be a knitted garden to delight all those interested in crafts and a ‘sky’ garden to look up to! 32 diverse gardens will be represented for garden lovers to choose from.
Favourite gardens on the river and lots of new ones in the south of the town, including community-led gardens. Thetford prides itself on welcoming visitors with plenty of delicious refreshments throughout the day in strategically placed gardens. Expert gardeners will give you tips on how to grow in our local soil and a bee keeper will have honey for sale.
There will be a chance to buy plants on the day and at our plant sale on Saturday 11 May outside St Cuthbert’s Church near the market place. ‘Pop up’ spring gardens will be announced on Facebook and Twitter!
Programmes for Thetford Open Gardens can be bought for £5 from Thetford Garden Centre (01842 763267), The Leaping Hare in Kings Street (01842 751975) and Thetford’s Market Square on the day. The programme will be posted to you if you order it online.
Kindly organised by Rachel Woods, Sue Norman and Susie Dowling.
